Computer Vision R&D Engineer
A medical technology company based in San Diego County is growing their Medical R&D team and looking to hire an additional Computer Vision R&D Engineer. The company has launched a new neurosurgical robotic system and is developing related products for their medical device portfolio.
This Engineer will be responsible for developing computer vision algorithms for surgical navigation systems. This role will require a strong background in 2D imaging and image processing, computer vision, and machine learning, as well as experience in programming languages such as Python and C++.

Responsibilities:
- Research and develop scalable computer vision and machine learning solutions to complex problems
- Investigate and address real-world challenges in image recognition/classification, object detection/tracking/recognition, segmentation, etc.
- Design, implement, and deploy full-stack computer vision and machine learning systems
- Analyze data and conduct experiments to optimize model and system performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine vision, and computer vision
- Communicate with stakeholders and provide technical expertise to ensure successful project delivery
Required Experience:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field
- 4-8 years of relevant industry experience, ideally in Medical Device software development
- Strong background with conventional and state-of-the-art methods in CV/ML/DL
- Strong 2D imaging and image processing experience
- Strong experience in programming languages such as Python and C++ in production environments
- Good communication skills, effective listening, and critical questioning
