Celebrating the best of the healthcare comms industry at the 2026 Communiqué Awards

3 minute read

Last week, two members from our healthcare communications team attended the 2026 Communique Awards. As a prestigious event in this industry, Georgina Elias and Daniel Chitra were delighted to join the hundreds of professionals for an evening soiree of drinks, a sit-down meal and a night of celebration and recognition.

Below we’ve outlined the significance of both this industry and the Communique Awards, as well as special mentions of winning companies, and personal highlights from the night.

Celebrating the healthcare communications industry

Healthcare communications, which falls under medical affairs, aims to increase awareness and spark conversations around new drugs, therapies and medical devices. Materials can target healthcare practitioners, buyers or the public – and are designed to ultimately have a positive impact on both health knowledge and decision making.

Professionals who work in healthcare communications agencies work on everything from ideas and events to social media, PR and advertising, spanning every disease area. They bring creativity along with scientific curiosity and an analytical mind. Translating dense medical jargon into words everyone can understand is a big part of the job, too.

The Communique Awards, which takes place annually in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, commends excellence and innovation across healthcare communications and medical affairs.

There are 32 award categories (including those for individuals, teams and whole organizations) with several having been updated this year to reflect the sophistication of modern practices and disciplines that have emerged across scientific, creative and digital capabilities.

Each award is specifically designed to celebrate and highlight campaigns from pharma companies and healthcare agencies that have successfully improved patient outcomes, while tackling stigma and driving scientific change.

Award-winning companies

During the evening, both Daniel and Georgina mentioned how encouraging it was to see both small and large organizations receiving recognition for their efforts

"It was fantastic to see so many agencies recognized for the quality of their work. The standard across the board was incredibly high, and it was great to celebrate the achievements of both established names and emerging agencies making a real impact in the industry." - Georgina

Among the standout winners was Camino Communications, which was named Communiqué Public Affairs and Policy Consultancy of the Year. The award recognized the agency's continued excellence in helping shape healthcare policy conversations.

Real Chemistry was also recognized, taking home the award for Communiqué Medical Affairs Agency of the Year, reflecting the strength of its work and growing influence within the medical affairs space.

Smaller specialist agencies, such as Only The Brave, received a Highly Commended distinction in the Small Consultancy of the Year category, highlighting the impact independent consultancies continue to have through specialist expertiseinnovation and strong client partnerships.

Beyond the awards

Beyond the awards, the event also highlighted the strength of relationships across the healthcare comms and medical affairs community.

It was really positive to have everyone together in one room, acknowledging their best work and overarching mission of improving public health knowledge and increasing awareness about disease prevention and treatment.

Our recruiters enjoyed their time catching up with customers and gaining insight into their work as well as hearing their passion from them firsthand. Reconnecting and networking were an equally meaningful part of the night.

"The conversations we had throughout the evening really highlighted how much innovation is happening across healthcare communications. Hearing agencies talk about their achievements, growth plans and future ambitions gave us valuable insight into where the industry is heading." – Daniel

A huge congratulations to all the winners, highly commended entries, finalists and nominees recognized on the night. The quality of work on display was exceptional, and we look forward to seeing how the sector continues to evolve over the coming year.
