Our client is a growing biopharmaceutical company focused on pioneering targeted therapies that harness the power of translational biology to transform cancer and immune-related treatments. They are seeking a senior scientific leader to serve as Vice President of Translational Medicine & Clinical Biomarkers. In this high-impact position, you will own the end-to-end translational and biomarker strategy across multiple pipeline programs, from early target engagement to late-phase clinical development, playing a pivotal role in portfolio decision-making and scientific innovation.
Role Summary
You will lead a talented team and partner closely with Research, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Data Science teams, working in a strategic and operational capacity. This role involves representing the company externally in scientific forums, spearheading biomarker development, and ensuring translational insights directly inform clinical trial designs, regulatory submissions, and business decisions. You will operate in an on-site setting, providing leadership, scientific expertise, and innovation to accelerate the company’s pioneering efforts in targeted protein degradation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide translational medicine and biomarker strategies.
- Manage biomarker programs spanning discovery through to clinical validation, ensuring scientific rigor and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the integration of advanced translational data modalities, supporting precision medicine initiatives.
- Collaborate on clinical trial design and biomarker content, contributing to regulatory interactions and submissions.
- Build and manage strategic external partnerships with CROs, labs, and academic institutions.
- Drive operational excellence, including infrastructure, technology, and resource management.
- Inspire and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.
Experience & Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant life sciences discipline (Immunology, Oncology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology).
- 15+ years in translational medicine or biomarker research, with at least 5–7 years in senior leadership roles within pharma or biotech, particularly in oncology and immunology.
- Proven track record in leading biomarker programs from IND to proof-of-concept, including regulatory interactions.
- Hands-on expertise with multiplex and molecular biomarker technologies, bioinformatics, and translational data integration.
- Strong leadership skills, strategic mindset, and exceptional communication abilities.
This role offers a base salary between $350,000 and $400,000, depending on experience.
