The opportunity (Role summary)
As Vice President of Clinical Operations, you will oversee the global clinical development efforts, ensuring seamless execution from early-stage studies through late-stage trials. Serving as a key partner to executive leadership, you will translate strategic goals into operational plans, foster a high-performance team culture, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Your leadership will enable the organization to scale efficiently and meet critical development milestones, ultimately bringing new therapies to market faster.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the clinical operations strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee global clinical programs, managing timelines, budgets, and quality across multiple phases and indications.
  • Partner across functions—including clinical development, regulatory, biometrics, and safety—to shape and execute development plans.
  • Build and develop a high-performing, patient-focused team capable of supporting global growth.
  • Establish robust governance, performance metrics, and risk management processes for clinical studies.
  • Manage relationships with CROs, vendors, and clinical sites to ensure high standards and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain oversight of trial budgets, resource planning, and vendor management to optimize speed, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure all clinical activities comply with regulatory standards, Good Clinical Practice, and internal SOPs.
  • Serve as the senior clinical operations representative in executive leadership discussions and external partnerships.

What you’ll bring

  • Over 15 years of progressive experience in clinical development within biotech or pharmaceuticals, with considerable leadership in autoimmune indications.
  • Proven success managing complex, global clinical portfolios, especially in early and late-phase studies.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to shift between high-level planning and operational problem-solving.
  • Expertise in managing CROs, vendor strategies, and navigating global regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in setting scalable processes, implementing clinical systems, and leading high-performance teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for meetings, site visits, and partnership engagements.

Compensation & benefits
This role offers a base salary range of $330,000 to $355,000, depending on experience. It includes stock options, RSUs, a stock purchase plan, and a target bonus. The comprehensive benefits package supports employees and their families, covering medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance. Relocation assistance may also be available.
