The Senior Corporate Counsel will be responsible for establishing and leading the company’s legal function, providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice across regulatory, corporate, and commercial matters. This role requires a senior legal professional capable of operating autonomously while partnering closely with executive leadership to support the company’s growth and long-term strategic objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the company’s legal infrastructure, including oversight of contracting, compliance, and corporate governance frameworks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including service-related MSAs and enterprise MSAs with pharma, also including SaaS, licensing, data use, and enterprise customer contracts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external legal advisors, managing relationships and synthesising advice into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and implement scalable legal processes to support commercial operations and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant regulatory developments, providing proactive guidance to mitigate risk and support business strategy.
  • Identify and drive legal and structural initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and support business expansion.
  • Lead or support strategic, cross-functional projects, including new product or service launches and external partnerships.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide legal input on corporate strategy, go-to-market activities, and organisational growth initiatives.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Holds a JD, licensed to practice in New York, with 4-8 years’ post-qualification experience, gained within a leading law firm and/or in-house at a high-growth organisation.
  • Must have experience with commercial contracting, preferably with large pharma, mid-sized, and small biotech companies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and commercial legal frameworks, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven ability to operate with attention-to-detail in fast-paced, evolving environments, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and solutions-driven approach.
