Position Overview
The team is seeking a Research Associate with strong in vivo pharmacology experience who can independently execute study-related procedures. This individual will play a key role in supporting preclinical studies across multiple animal models, contributing to both study execution and data quality.
This role is best suited for someone who is confident working hands-on in a research setting and can carry out procedures with minimal oversight while maintaining strict adherence to protocol and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a range of in vivo procedures independently, including various dosing routes, sample collection (blood/tissue), necropsy, and peri-operative support
- Handle and monitor multiple species (e.g., rodents and large animal models) in accordance with approved protocols and welfare standards
- Prepare test articles/formulations and support biological sample processing
- Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results with a high level of precision
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply needs to support ongoing studies
- Adhere to GLP practices, SOPs, and regulatory documentation requirements
- Partner with scientific staff on study execution, data review, and troubleshooting
- Support study timelines with occasional schedule flexibility (early/late hours or weekends as needed)
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline or related field
- ~1–3 years of hands-on in vivo research experience in a laboratory setting
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform animal procedures including dosing, blood collection, anesthesia monitoring, and necropsy
- Experience working across both small and large animal models
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., IACUC, GLP)
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Willingness to meet occupational health requirements, including vaccinations if required
Preferred:
- AALAS certification (ALAT or LAT)
- Experience in a preclinical or contract research environment
- Exposure to complex pharmacology models or surgical techniques
