About the Opportunity

Meet has partnered with a confidential preclinical research organization focused on advancing early-stage drug development through high-quality in vivo studies. This team operates in a highly collaborative environment, emphasizing scientific integrity, ethical research practices, and continuous learning.

The organization offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced scientists on impactful research programs while developing hands-on expertise in translational and preclinical pharmacology.

Position Overview

The team is seeking a Research Associate with strong in vivo pharmacology experience who can independently execute study-related procedures. This individual will play a key role in supporting preclinical studies across multiple animal models, contributing to both study execution and data quality.

This role is best suited for someone who is confident working hands-on in a research setting and can carry out procedures with minimal oversight while maintaining strict adherence to protocol and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of in vivo procedures independently, including various dosing routes, sample collection (blood/tissue), necropsy, and peri-operative support
  • Handle and monitor multiple species (e.g., rodents and large animal models) in accordance with approved protocols and welfare standards
  • Prepare test articles/formulations and support biological sample processing
  • Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results with a high level of precision
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply needs to support ongoing studies
  • Adhere to GLP practices, SOPs, and regulatory documentation requirements
  • Partner with scientific staff on study execution, data review, and troubleshooting
  • Support study timelines with occasional schedule flexibility (early/late hours or weekends as needed)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline or related field
  • ~1–3 years of hands-on in vivo research experience in a laboratory setting
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform animal procedures including dosing, blood collection, anesthesia monitoring, and necropsy
  • Experience working across both small and large animal models
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., IACUC, GLP)
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to meet occupational health requirements, including vaccinations if required

Preferred:

  • AALAS certification (ALAT or LAT)
  • Experience in a preclinical or contract research environment
  • Exposure to complex pharmacology models or surgical techniques

Why This Opportunity

  • Hands-on exposure to advanced in vivo pharmacology work
  • Opportunity to expand technical skillset across multiple species and study types
  • Collaborative, science-driven team environment
  • Clear path for technical growth and professional development
