If you enjoy bringing structure to fast-moving environments, this is a chance to step into a high-impact role where you will help senior leadership turn cross-functional priorities into clear plans, measurable progress, and real outcomes. You will have the autonomy to take ownership, improve visibility across initiatives, and shape how work gets done while partnering with a collaborative team in a growing biotech setting. With potential to convert to a permanent role, this engagement offers both immediate impact and longer-term upside.

Our client is a growing biotechnology company operating in a rapidly evolving environment. They are looking for a Project Management & Strategic Operations Consultant to support a senior leader driving strategic projects and operational execution across the organization. While the immediate focus is strong project management support, the scope may expand over time into strategic operations, process improvement, and evaluation of emerging tools and technologies.

Role Summary:

You will coordinate cross-functional initiatives, create reliable project structure, and drive accountability across stakeholders. This is a remote role (preference for North Carolina-based candidates) on a 6-month contract, 40 hours per week, with contract-to-permanent potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, Gantt charts, and tracking tools for cross-functional initiatives
  • Coordinate activities across teams to align deliverables, milestones, and decision points
  • Facilitate project meetings, capture action items, and drive follow-through across stakeholders
  • Monitor progress, identify risks early, and deliver mitigation plans
  • Support strategic and operational initiatives focused on efficiency and execution
  • Create dashboards, status reports, and leadership-ready project updates
  • Assist with evaluating and implementing new tools, technologies, and workflow improvements
  • Drive projects forward independently in an environment with evolving priorities and limited structure
  • Adapt to shifting needs and contribute where support is most critical

Experience & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in project/program management, strategic operations, or business operations within biotech, pharma, or life sciences
  • Experience working in a small or emerging life sciences organization
  • Strong project planning skills (Gantt charts, timelines, trackers)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who can navigate ambiguity and work with limited oversight
  • Interest in process improvement, operational excellence, and emerging technologies (including AI-enabled tools)

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting cross-functional drug development, research, clinical, medical affairs, or operational initiatives
  • Exposure to process improvement, digital transformation, or workflow optimization
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools
  • Experience partnering directly with senior leadership
