Our client is a small, focused team building technology that puts better clinical information in the hands of healthcare professionals — at a scale that belies the size of the team behind it. They've grown fast, they operate lean by design, and they're now building out the founding team that will shape the next decade of the company.
Most health tech is built by engineers who have never spoken to a clinician. This role is built around doing the opposite.
Product Engineer
You'll talk to users constantly, figure out the simplest way to solve their actual problem, and ship it. No handoffs, no waiting for a brief to land on your desk. You'll own product areas end-to-end — from the first conversation with a clinician through to production — working directly alongside the founders on what gets built and why.
The engineering team handles infrastructure and security. Your focus is what clinicians experience every day, and how to make it meaningfully better.
What You'll Work On
User Research to Production You start with the clinician and work backwards. Talk to users, find the real problem underneath the stated one, and build the cleanest possible solution — then ship it and keep improving.
Fullstack AI Features Build and own features end-to-end, with strong fullstack fundamentals and hands-on experience with LLMs. Fast, opinionated, and delightful — not just functional.
Product Direction Work directly with the founders to decide what gets built next. You're not executing someone else's roadmap — you're helping to write it.
Iteration in Production Use real user signals to improve what you've shipped. A feature in production tells you more than a month of planning ever could.
What You Bring
- 2+ years shipping production code in a product-driven environment, ideally at a consumer, prosumer or healthtech startup
- Strong fullstack skills and hands-on experience building with LLMs
- High agency — you move without being asked and take full ownership without waiting for a perfect brief
- You talk to users, not about them, and let what you hear shape what you build
- You say what you think, flag what's broken, and care more about getting it right than being right
