Our client is a small, focused team building technology that puts better clinical information in the hands of healthcare professionals — at a scale that belies the size of the team behind it. They've grown fast, they operate lean by design, and they're now building out the founding team that will shape the next decade of the company.

In healthcare, the interface isn't decoration. When a clinician is making a call, what's in front of them needs to work — instantly, clearly, without friction. Good design here isn't a nice-to-have. It's part of the answer.

Design Engineer

You'll sit at the intersection of design and engineering and own both sides completely. That means building what you design, shipping it fast, and iterating on it in production with real users giving you real signal. Product, brand, motion, systems — the full picture is yours to shape.

The right person for this role doesn't think in handoffs. They think in outcomes. They see something that isn't working and they fix it — not because they were asked, but because they couldn't leave it alone.

What You'll Work On

The Full Product Experience You're responsible for how the product looks, feels and behaves across every surface. You set the bar and you hold it.

Building, Not Just Designing You write production code. Your work goes live fast and you learn from it in real time — no waiting, no translating your vision through someone else's hands.

The Details That Actually Matter Information hierarchy, typography, interaction design — the things most people gloss over are the things you obsess over. That's what separates good from great in a product like this.

Working at the Top of the Company You'll work directly with the founders, with short feedback loops and genuine influence over product direction. What you think matters here.

What You Bring

  • Fluency in both design and engineering — you've always worked this way
  • A portfolio that shows taste, not just technical ability
  • Experience shaping both product and brand, not one or the other
  • The instinct to spot what's off and the drive to fix it unprompted
  • Speed that doesn't come at the cost of quality
  • A desire to own, not assist

Details Based in San Francisco. Remote considered for the right person, with relocation support available. Competitive salary, meaningful equity, full-time.
