Our client is a growing research-focused organization supporting the discovery and development of therapies targeting inborn errors of metabolism and lysosomal storage disorders. They are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead their Cell Biology and Analytical Pathology team. In this key leadership role, you will oversee scientific strategy, guide experimental design, and inspire a team of scientists and research associates engaged in cutting-edge preclinical research.

Role Summary
You will serve as a subject matter expert in analytical pathology and cell biology, driving innovative research efforts. This position involves managing daily team operations, resource planning, and fostering a collaborative environment. You will support the development of cellular models of human disease, evaluate therapeutic compounds, and contribute to the broader scientific mission of the organization. The role is based on-site, with opportunities to influence a growing pipeline of potential therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set strategic direction and serve as a scientific leader in analytical pathology and cell biology.
  • Lead and motivate a high-performing team focused on developing cellular models and conducting advanced histological techniques.
  • Oversee experiment design, assay development, and research processes to ensure scientific rigor and innovation.
  • Optimize resource allocation and project timelines across multiple research initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and career development guidance to team members to foster growth and expertise.
  • Review scientific reports, SOPs, and support regulatory documentation as needed.

Experience & Requirements

  • PhD with 10+ years of relevant research and leadership experience.
  • Strong background in enzyme replacement therapies, lysosomal storage disorders, or rare metabolic diseases.
  • Expertise in analytical pathology, histological techniques, and image analysis platforms.
  • Proven experience in developing cellular models of human genetic diseases.
  • Experience with project management, resource planning, and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Salary
This role offers a base salary between $180,000 and $250,000, depending on experience.
