The Meet Passport: Shannon & Brocke’s Trip to London

3 minutes

In June, two of our New York-based recruiters paid a visit to our London office for a week. Division manager Shannon Mattiolo and Principal Delivery recruiter Brocke Stepteau used their Meet Passports to enjoy a week-long trip across the pond.

Having been part of Meet Life Sciences for four years, both earned this reward for their strong dedication and contributions to the companyAs a result, they were able to meet people they’ve worked with from afar, explore a new city and finally put faces to names – all paid for.

So, let’s dive into how they got their Meet Passports as well as the highlights from their trip.

What is a Meet Passport?

At Meet, our employees receive a Meet Passport on their four-year work anniversary. In Brocke’s words: It’s an offering they give us once you’ve worked at the company for four years. You are offered the chance to visit any other office for a week... and we chose to come to London for ours.”

Essentially, its one of the ways we thank people for their dedication and contributions. The program offers one fully funded trip – including flights, accommodation and meal allowances – and involves four full working days in the host office along with one PTO day to explore the city and make the most out of the experience.

Why London?

We asked Shannon why she decided to visit the London office in particular.

“So, I’ve never been to London before. I’ve been to the San Diego office – which was wonderful – but I’ve always wanted to make London my Meet Passport Destination. I’ve been really excited to meet all the people I’ve been working with over the last four years and explore the city once I’m here. I’m super happy to finally be here in London.”

What did you enjoy about the London office?

Brocke and Shannon spent four days working in the London office before having Friday off sightseeingHere’s what they had to say about working with the London team:

It’s been so great seeing everyone in the office and finally getting that face to face interaction. I’ve had zoom meetings with these guys for years, so being able to work with them in person and spend more time with them has been really helpful. It’s also been a wonderful opportunity to work with people I’ve only seen virtually for the last several years.”

How did you spend your week?

So, aside from meeting their colleagues and enjoying the London office, what did they get up to on their visit?

Having arrived on Saturday, they slept off their jet lag and saw some of London’s famous and most iconic sights on Sunday. This included hitting Oxford Street and Regent Street for a spot of shopping among the busy crowds.

Monday to Thursday was fairly standard procedure – but the pair were still able to explore parts of the city due to the ideal central location of the Meet London office.

Shannon told us about her personal highlight: had afternoon tea at the Ritz yesterday, which was so much fun and such a wonderful experience.”

What are your key takeaways?

We ended our chat by asking both Brocke and Shannon for one takeaway from their Meet Passport trip.

Shannon concluded that meeting all the wonderful people in the London office was the most memorable part of the whole experience.

Brocke agreed but also added that this reward for being committed to the business for so long has been super meaningful. I think it shows what’s possible when you are successful and choose to stay with a great company. It really feels like we’ve invested our time in Meet, but Meet has invested in us as well”.

Following on from their trip to London, the two enjoyed a trip to Ibiza before returning to the New York HQ.

Stay tuned for the next installment of our Talent Spotlight series. We’ll be interviewing people from all across the company and we're looking forward to sharing their exciting stories and journeys!
