If you have a medical doctor (MD or equivalent) background along with extensive pharmacovigilance experience, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Our client, a global biopharmaceutical company, is looking for a VP Pharmacovigilance to lead their global pharmacovigilance function, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance for both marketed and investigational products. This critical leadership role will involve overseeing drug safety across the product lifecycle, including pre- and post-marketing activities in rare disease and/or endocrine/CNS therapeutic areas.

Role Summary: As the VP Pharmacovigilance, you will lead the global pharmacovigilance function, providing strategic and operational oversight of drug safety for commercial and clinical-stage products. This role will involve collaborating cross-functionally with various departments and overseeing safety governance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and medical oversight of all pharmacovigilance activities
  • Supervise QPPV functions and lead global PV systems and infrastructure development
  • Oversee case processing, signal detection, risk management plans, and safety-related regulatory submissions
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements and guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Represent PV in Health Authority interactions and inspections
  • Lead safety governance activities and oversee external vendors/partners

Experience & Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent with U.S. or international clinical training
  • 12+ years of pharmacovigilance and/or medical safety experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Expertise in regulatory safety requirements across major global markets
  • Experience supporting commercial products in rare disease, endocrine/metabolic, or CNS therapeutic areas
  • Ability to scale PV systems and teams in a growing biotech environment
  • Strategic and hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment

Salary: This role offers a base salary between £315,000 and £355,000, depending on experience.
