(Senior) Principal Engineer, Process Safety
RELOCATION PROVIDED
? Location: Indianapolis, IN | ? Industry: Biotech/Pharma | ? Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development and execution of Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including hazard assessments and emergency preparedness.
- Provide technical guidance on facility/equipment design and pre-startup safety reviews for capital projects.
- Coach cross-functional teams to embed a strong process safety culture across operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and support audits, investigations, and change management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement by contributing to corporate safety initiatives and benchmarking best practices.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related technical field.
- 6–8+ years of experience in process safety within chemical, biotech, or pharmaceutical operations.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and core safety tools (PHA, facility siting, etc.).
- Experience supporting or leading capital projects and integrating PSM into design.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical writing skills; professional certifications a plus.
