About the Role
Our client, a prestigious private institute for pathology based in Zurich, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Cytology to lead their cytology department. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a team of 6-7 skilled pathologists within a well-established and forward-thinking institution. The role is integral to maintaining excellence in diagnostic cytology and contributing to the continuous advancement of the field.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of 6-7 pathologists within the cytology department.

Oversee and ensure the accuracy and quality of cytological diagnostics.

Develop and implement best practices, workflows, and quality assurance measures.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

Drive innovation in cytological methods and techniques within the department.

Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for the team.

Engage in research activities and contribute to academic publications, where applicable.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Qualifications & Experience

Medical degree with board certification in pathology and specialization in cytopathology.

Significant experience in cytology, ideally in a leadership or senior role.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent diagnostic expertise in gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology.

Familiarity with digital pathology and advancements in molecular cytology is a plus.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Proficiency in English and German; additional languages are an advantage.
