On behalf of our client, a well-established and rapidly growing diagnostic services provider with multiple locations across Switzerland, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Consultant Pathologist to join their Bern facility, the largest of four centres in the country. The current team includes seven experienced pathologists, with plans for further expansion to meet increasing caseload demands.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a modern, dynamic laboratory known for its commitment to diagnostic excellence and innovation. You will work within a collaborative environment, contributing your expertise across a broad and stimulating range of pathology disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality histopathological analysis and diagnostic reporting

  • Manage a primary caseload focused on gastrointestinal and dermatopathology, with additional work in uro-pathology and other routine surgical pathology

  • Collaborate closely with fellow pathologists, clinicians, and lab personnel to support patient care

  • Take part in clinical discussions and ongoing medical education programs

  • Support internal quality assurance processes and contribute to continuous improvement

Candidate Profile

  • FMH-certified (or equivalent) Pathologist

  • Strong experience and/or sub-specialty interest in GI and/or dermatopathology is preferred

  • Competence in uro-pathology and general surgical pathology is expected

  • Meticulous attention to diagnostic detail and a commitment to quality

  • Effective communicator with a collaborative, team-focused approach

  • Proficiency in German (written and spoken) is preferred; English is an asset
