Director/Senior Director People - San Francisco Bay Area - 2 days/week
We're working with an innovative and growing company that's looking to bring on a dynamic Director/Senior Director of People. This leader will play a key role in shaping and advancing core areas such as performance management, compensation strategy, and benefits oversight. Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Design and refine frameworks that support individual development and team success. Guide goal-setting, performance discussions, and leadership alignment on career progression.
- Innovate a total rewards strategy: manage compensation philosophy and execution, including salary planning, equity programs, and incentive cycles. Partner cross-functionally to ensure transparency, fairness, and competitiveness globally.
- Steward an inclusive, values-driven workplace.
- Lead U.S. and global benefits strategy, partnering with vendors to ensure coverage, compliance, and employee education. Own open enrollment and drive utilization through clear, proactive communication.
- Play a key role in growing the company's international footprint.
Ideal background:
- 10+ years of HR experience, including leadership roles in high-growth biotech or life science settings
- Deep knowledge of compensation, performance, and organizational development
- Track record of building and scaling HR programs across regions
- Experience with European labor practices and international employment preferred
- Strategy mindset with strong operational acumen and ability to work across levels
- Clear, confident communicator with a people-first orientation
