Our client, a full-service, privately owned healthcare communications agency specializing in the rare disease space, is seeking a Creative Director – Art to join and strengthen their creative leadership team. The agency combines deep scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and innovative creativity to drive meaningful, transformative change in healthcare.
As Creative Director, Art you will be responsible for leading the strategic and creative execution of pharmaceutical marketing campaigns. This role combines deep industry knowledge with a strong creative vision to deliver innovative, compliant, and effective brand experiences across platforms. Collaborating closely with internal teams and clients, the Creative Director transforms complex medical content into compelling visual storytelling that resonates with healthcare professionals and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Leadership:
- Guide the strategic and creative direction of brand initiatives and new business opportunities
- Translate scientific content into impactful, results-driven creative concepts
- Lead ideation, design, and execution of multichannel campaigns
- Present work to clients, articulating creative rationale and incorporating feedback
- Ensure all creative meets brief, brand strategy, and regulatory standards
- Provide creative direction to internal teams and external partners
Team Management & Mentorship:
- Build, mentor, and lead cross-functional creative teams
- Identify and manage freelance and resourcing needs
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability
- Contribute to talent development and succession planning
Project Oversight:
- Define scopes, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee quality, consistency, and compliance of all creative deliverables
- Ensure adherence to pharmaceutical regulatory standards, including FDA and OPDP guidelines
Business Development & Strategic Collaboration:
- Support senior leadership in strategic planning and corporate initiatives
- Lead creative contributions to new business pitches
- Strengthen client relationships through strategic insight and creative excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical advertising with increasing creative leadership responsibility
- Proven experience leading agency-of-record campaigns
- Strong conceptual and visual storytelling skills
- Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud; proficiency in Figma, Sketch, and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with video, motion graphics, and multichannel marketing
