We are currently working with a respected and internationally recognised accreditation body that is looking to bring on board an experienced Assessment Manager to join their Life Sciences team, with a particular focus on Molecular Biology.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about quality standards and scientific excellence, ideally with hands-on lab experience and a solid understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 used in scientific environments.
This position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on the quality and credibility of laboratory practices across the UK. As an Assessment Manager, you'll be the main point of contact for organisations undergoing accreditation, ensuring that processes and standards are met with professionalism, accuracy, and strong customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and coordinating assessments from start to finish
Selecting and managing assessment teams
Designing and implementing assessment strategies
Collecting, reviewing, and reporting findings
Acting as a key liaison for clients, guiding them through the accreditation process
This role is home-based but requires extensive travel across the UK, with regular overnight stays (1-3 nights/ week).
A technical background in Molecular Biology, ideally with practical, hands-on lab experience
Solid understanding of modern quality management systems (ISO/IEC 17025 highly preferred)
Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
Previous experience in auditing, testing, or accreditation work
A relevant degree is preferred but not essential – practical experience in the field will also be valued
