We are currently recruiting for a unique and high-impact opportunity with a leading accreditation body, seeking an experienced Accreditation Specialist to join their Forensics team.
If you have a strong background in accreditation and are passionate about maintaining and improving quality standards in forensic science, this role offers a chance to contribute at both national and international levels. You’ll be working at the intersection of science, regulation, and public trust—helping to shape the future of forensic quality assurance.
As an Accreditation Specialist in the Forensics sector, you’ll play a key role in both operational and strategic work. You’ll be involved in guiding accreditation processes, supporting the development of policy, and engaging with key stakeholders across the forensic science community.
Core responsibilities include:
Contributing to the development of accreditation policies within the forensic sector
Leading technical assessments and signing off on accreditation decisions
Reviewing non-conformities and promoting continuous improvement among accredited organisations
Working alongside the Forensic Science Regulator to help shape and implement a long-term quality assurance strategy
Supporting the introduction of new accreditation areas to meet emerging needs
Representing the organisation nationally and internationally—building relationships with government, law enforcement, forensic providers, and industry stakeholders
Strong knowledge of accreditation principles, including in-depth understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020
Experience within the forensic science sector
Exceptional communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills
Confidence working independently and collaboratively across teams and sectors
A mindset geared toward innovation and continual improvement
